My nameI work from my studio in Alexandria, Sydney. is Karim Konrad, and I am a Sydney-based visual artist and photographer working across photography, mixed media, and oil painting. My work often begins with a photoshoot, usually capturing people in water or in my studio, which I then transform into expressive, abstract paintings.
Using colour and texture — sometimes with resin, sometimes purely in oil on board — my process blends portraiture with abstraction to create pieces that feel emotional, fluid, and alive. I studied Communication Design and Art Direction at the Hamburg Academy in Germany and have exhibited widely in Australia, including my solo show Double Exposure at The Art Centre of Sydney and multiple appearances at The Other Art Fair, Sydney.
